A *new* American Survival Guide…Interesting…

Just picked up a couple of magazines today at the news stand. One was a Writer’s Digest issue on writing successful novels…something on my bucket list….

The other?  “American Survival Guide”.

No…not the one helmed by Jim Benson for many years….this one is from the editors of Gun World.

Unfortunately, my eyes are burning and stinging from 3 hours of mowing my yard on a windy afternoon, with lots of dust and debris  flying into my face on the downwind runs of the riding mower.

I’ll give it a good reading tomorrow, and post my thoughts and a review of this version of a classic and respected magazine.

Seems the popularity of “Doomsday Preppers”, Survivorman, Les Stroud, and many other tv shows and global disasters have brought back “survival” into the profitable mainstream press again.

Time will tell if this issue will last into many more issues over many years. Still, a quick glance through the magazine shows it has some timely articles, nifty ads, and useful (and potentially life saving) information within. Stay tuned.
