The student body president caught me in the hall last week on campus, right after the weekly senate meeting, and asked me a question. “Would you be interested in representing the students in the IT committee meetings?” Seems most of the senate recommended me since I do so much around the campus with tutoring, developing student websites, troubleshooting dorm computers and such, and words gotten around. Being president of the WebDev club here sure didn’t hurt either.
Not sure what the job entails yet, other than sitting in on a high level college meeting with profs, deans, and REALLY geeky faculty every other friday, but being a representative for the ENTIRE student body for anything is worth giving it a shot, and sure won’t hurt the ol’ resume.
