I’ve spent the past couple of days doing some major programming work, installation, upgrades, and design work on SurvivalRing, mostly with the Wordpress open source content management system, which is what you are looking at right now.

First, I had to solve some problems within the mssql database, that was really messing up the display of the blog system…turned out to be a redirect link, embedded deep in one of the tables of the program. This error was causing the style sheet to not load, login to malfunction, and a bit more. In essence, I think the blog was not working for most visitors…it certainly was giving ME headaches.

Removing the malformed code made a big difference. I had to make sure I got it fixed, BEFORE I upgraded Wordpress to the latest version, from 1.3a to 1.5.1.3. Lots of great features, admin functions, and more in this new package.

Really amazing technology…

Back in July, I got to take a ride down to Cheyenne, Wyoming with Wyoming Public TV, one of my employers. Helped them shoot and produce a weeks worth of special reports on a summer legislative session. I also got to meet the governer in person, during a ‘closing-up’ interview of the previous week. Even got a picture of he and I together…

Boy, I feel special now!
