If you happen to come across this website layout while visiting SurvivalRing, congratulations.

What you are now looking at is the workshop layout of the next generation of the entire SurvivalRing website. Since 1997, SurvivalRing has undergone several iterations in design, layout, and technology. This newest design is the next step into the future.

SurvivalRing 5.0 brings the web site structure into a completely database driven system, with template layouts, contextual advertising, full search functions, download management, member registration, and a ton of new obvious and not so obvious programming tools.

With this upgrade, pages will load faster, navigation will be vastly, vastly improved, all site upgrades, editing and programs will be done online, and security will be improved tremendously.

Stay tuned. As you see new areas here, send us a comment on what you see. Give us some feedback on the layout changes from our current site design, and this new design.

Our latest programming project for this upgrade is the new navigation panel you see above. There is still a bit of editing yet to do with it, but the look and feel are pretty much complete. Only a few of the pages are linked to within the navigation links. This part of the project will be complete by the end of 2007. Also by that time, all the linked pages from our menu system will be created, updated, and ready.

There is still much to do. A bit of very much needed programming still needs work, and this is the download management system. This is a key component of SurvivalRing. Currently, with ALL available download files totalled up, we have over 20 gigabytes of downloadable information, in zip, pdf, rar, and other file types. We also have over 50 CD images that are uploaded, and will eventually be available for download.

Managing all these downloads, tracking each file for popularity and availability, keeping hackers and freeloaders out, accepting comments and ratings about each file, accepting payment or donations for certain files, and securing the entire system is the biggest hurdle we’ve been working on for quite some time. It’s important to us, and should be important to you as well.

We offer hundreds of thousands of printable pages of unique, original, rare, and in some cases, unavailable until recently files. These cover ALL areas of survival and preparedness including new government info as well as historical and authentic documents with billions of dollars of reseach behind them.

Having suffered a series of server and/or site hacks in the last few years, and with considerable investment in hardware, software, hardcopy documents, hosting and domains, and a large amount of programming, we take our decade of work that we’ve invested thus far very seriously, and want to make sure we keep moving forward for another decade or three, to keep bringing these and future sets of information for generations to come. This means keeping our technology up to date, as well as the data we so preciously keep online.

Stay tuned to this page…stay aware of our project updates…and be part of the next generation of SurvivalRing. The future is approaching at the speed of light!

Rich

For those with long term interests in learning about all things preparedness and survival related, I’ve got some big plans ahead. Please visit my new Take a Poll page and give me your feedback on the current three polls there. I’ve just added several more polls to our list, and I would like to invite ALL of you to use them to tell me what you would like to see added to SurvivalRing this year.

I’ve got some brand new, never before on the web, digital civil defense documents coming online in the next few days, and you’ll see them HERE first. I’ve also added a new Bird Flu Prepping tools section, and will be adding articles, government documents, and more planning info for this very potential threat to SurvivalRing in the month of February, with real facts, real government planning, and suggestions on how you can plan for caring for your family, should a true pandemic break out in this nation.

I’ve got an entirely new design in work for SurvivalRing, to tie together ALL the areas of the site in a more manageable system, and will be seeking a handfull of you (volunteers, anyone?) to help me beta test the new design, comment on the new layout, and help me tune it as it goes live. In exchange, I’ll be offering something special for this chosen few. You’ll like it, I promise.

New areas to be added are Family Income sections, a replacement forum for the Ikonboard system which died (but not before I upgraded and moved the data), comment ability on ANY webpage in this site, and for those who puchase my CDs, the ability to instantly download a CD IMAGE online ( at a discount, and with full access for a year to get all updates of the entire CD as it’s upgraded, changed, etc…with access to all NEW file creations automatically provided).

Many new projects for SurvivalRing this year, and more growth than ever. For the entire year of 2006, we doubled traffic, tripled downloaded files (450 gigs of download in 12 months, and we served millions of visitors). Thanks to ALL of you who keep coming back.

If you have comments, suggestions, questions, or anything you can think of, that you would like SurvivalRing to share, create, or add to our system capability, use the email link below.

Until next update,

Thanks, Richard ( rafleet@gmail.com )

SurvivalRing has been on the web since 1997. It started out as a single web page to support the SurvivalRing Survival and Preparedness webring, hosted way back then on Webring.org (now a poorly run Dot.Com company). Within a couple of months, the webring had 12 members webrings. By the late fall of 1999 (pre Y2K), SurvivalRing had 750 members and amazing traffic.

Starting in early 1998, SurvivalRing became it’s own website, with hosting, downloads, features, and a lot more. A budding online community was born.

Today, SurvivalRing has been beefed up on infrastructure and backend support, and now has the room, and power, to offer AMAZING future growth.

Another media company has contacted me requesting help in finding folks who may be interested in adventure, travel, survival, and probably a little pain and worry.

I’ve taken a look at their website below and I’ve seen many of the shows they produce appear on the Discovery Channel.

While I will suggest that anyone interested in helping this reality series possibility pursue it with caution (all kinds of things happen when you let it all out on national TV…think of Survivor Winner Richard Hatch, who’s now in prison for tax fraud regarding his winnings), if you ARE up for a challenge, an adventure, and a chance to do something very few individuals ever get to, then send them an email at the address below.
