Civil Defense Now! Video Gallery
By Richard A. Fleetwood - May 2001
There are many ways to learn from the experience of others when it comes to trying to stay safe and alive in deadly or dangerous situations. Thanks to techology, and the advent of smaller and lighter video cameras, many natural and technological disasters and accidents can and are recorded with increasing regularity.
This page is to offer to you a small set of videos from various sources, that lets you see the full power of nature, and in some cases, man. The biggest growth of Civil Defense occured during the 50s and 60s during the nuclear test years, and much of the testing provided the scientists, and now the world, with movies and video of the extreme power, and damage, that are created with the detonations of nuclear weapons.
The files presented here can help you learn WHAT can happen around you, or to you, in different situations, and viewing them will provide you with a little more respect for mother nature, as well as those things that either go wrong with technology, or things that are created to destroy. Some of these files are multiple megabytes in size and may take awhile to download, so be patient. They are in formats that most media players should be able to play without any problem.
Your comments are welcome, as well as any files you wish to volunteer to this section.
