By Richard A. Fleetwood - May 2001
Thanks to the work of some very helpful folks, data that was once only available by being lucky enough to find the right books, or by knowing the right people, is now available to anyone with a laptop computer.
This page is intended to offer you a small selection of software that can help you learn more about specific areas of PREPAREDNESS. If it is on this page, the software is either FREEWARE, PUBLIC DOMAIN, or SHAREWARE. If it is shareware, and you find it useful, please show the author your support by fullfilling the registration requirements.
Also, if you are the AUTHOR of software, spreadsheets, or data collections and would like to have an archive of it mirrored at this site to help spread the word, please drop me an email with the details.

This shareware program lets you input the size of a potential nuclear weapon, and a windspeed variable, and then calculates and displays fallout range, detonation and damage measurements, fallout data, and more, using both number ranges, and a graphical layout. Written in the mid 1990s, it is based on the information published in the EFFECTS OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS. It will run on nearly all systems, including old pcs that don't run very fast at all. Mostly an educational tool, it is quite interesting to see just what a nuke can do...and if you pull out a map and measure from your house to potential targets, might give you either the willies, or peace of mind. Try it.
More to come as time allows....
