SurvivalRing Thank You Statement
By Richard Fleetwood - Updated May 2012
My thanks and sincere appreciation go to the following for their sincere comments, thoughts, and ideas about this webring website and how to make it better and even more useful:
My wife Annie and children Laurie, Robert and Kenny for allowing me the time to spend on keeping it updated and growing at as often as humanly possible. This year we celebrate our 31st anniversary, and enjoy every moment with our grand kids.
Bruce Beach, for his vast experience and simple yet useful ideas on communicating the theme even better. Congrats on the Doomsday Preppers episode. One of the most reasonable yet thoughtful portions of the entire first year. I still don't think we're facing Doomsday anytime soon, but it's good to at least HAVE A PLAN. And yes, I followed your advice in 2000 and "got out of the cities". Still loving it here.
Randy Stephens, for his wonderful work on the main SurvivalRing logo images over the years and thoughtful input ; and for the very cool GERBER multitool...I STILL use it EVERY DAY...unbelievable gift...and my favorite tool of all time. We need to get back in touch more often, my friend
Mike "Thunderlight" Rondot, and his dear late wife Carolyn for their constant, often daily, support and spiritual guidance as this world gets stranger and more dangerous everyday. You've tasted the good and bad in life so much, yet are one of the strongest people I know. This year is tough...but we both know it will get better. See ya soon.
Terry Akins, for his continuing LONG TERM support in SO MANY WAYS, in helping with immediate needs of SurvivalRing, when I'd spent EVERYTHING to return to college for several college degrees. Terry, without you, SurvivalRing might have gone away SEVERAL times. You have my deepest thanks, and utmost appreciation for what you have done to assist me, and especially for being a BIG part of the success of the CERT program in your area near DC, one of the places in the US that MOST needs citizen volunteers for the inevitable future threats and chaos that seem to be upwind of us all. Glad you're feeling much better from your little "vacation". You and your dear love need some time in Wyoming, my friend.
Mark Foster, a long term friend whose voice of reason and support before, during, and after the events of September 11th, 2001 helped me keep things in a real perspective...that of simply helping my fellow man. Through tough times, such as 9/11, and other life altering disasters, you've been on my mind.
Jim Jones, founder and president of Live Free/American Survivor, for having enough faith in me to allow me to continue increasing my skills as the newsletter editor and web master of the group for several years.
Jim Benson, owner and editor of ModernSurvival.net, and long time editor and writer for American Survival Guide. Jim, thanks for your support at every level. Best wishes with continued success in your projects. I can't find you online right now, and hope you are doing ok.
James Wesley Rawles, author, blogger, and survival expert...for considering me worthy enough to follow my footsteps into the blogging world, and creating such an incredible resource known as The Survival Blog...www.survivalblog.com
The "Utah Contingent" of my old ThinkTank.. thanks for your two years of support, ideas, suggestions, and real work..I'm sorry it fell apart the way it did. It still hurts.
And, YOU the reader, for taking the time to email your comments and spend so much time traveling the entire website, and webring, and finding those jewels of a site that make the internet such a powerful tool for learning. and all the folks who have joined the SurvivalRing since its birth and have stayed with it and kept it fresh and incredibly worthwhile to visitors.
YOU are why I have been doing doing this for over fifteen years...I hope to get another twenty or thirty years out of it...if you'll help me every once in a while.
